A 70-year-old blind woman was allegedly raped by her acquaintance at her house in a colony under Sudamdih police station, about 19 km from the district headquarters.
In this connection, the victim, a blind woman and her relatives lodged a complaint at the Sudamdih police station against her former landlord Sanjay Kumar alias Suraj (55). The accused was absconding after the incident.
Superintendent of Police Sudamdih Pradip Rana told that a complaint was lodged on Wednesday. Police are investigating the complaint. The victim and their relatives were questioned in this regard. The police conduct raids to nab the accused who has fled.
The victim's son informed the police that they used to live in the accused's rented house and shifted to the Sudamdih area a few months ago. On Monday, the blind woman was alone in the house. Meanwhile, the accused came to the house and committed the crime.
